Oakland Art Murmur Reception: FRI, June 5, 6-9PM, music sound performance by Evan Holm
Artist Talk: SAT, June 13, 2:00PM
Vessel Gallery 471 25th Street, Oakland, CA

Since graduating from UCB Art program, Vessel was one of my go-to, must-see galleries. Until, it hit a dry spell. I love ya Vessel, but the work became predictable. That jaw dropping, OMG, I will never be this amazing, feeling of Awe, was lost for a while. But now, it's back with vengeance!
Evan Holm's installation, in his studio, half finished, before refinement, was beyond impressive. So you can understand my excitement to see these pieces completed and in the beautiful space of Vessel Gallery.
If you're familiar with Vessel Gallery, you'll know that there is a smaller downstairs space and a large upstairs. Evan is working on two large installations involving, ink, flour, cassette tape, sound, and the etherial branches we've admired in his previous works.
Downstairs at vessel, Cloud//Clock will be installed. Of Which we got to see the early tests of, last time we talked to Evan. Upstairs we will get to see, for the very first time, a brand new piece spanning over 70 feet of ink baths, 6 branch/ wheels and hundreds of feet of cassette tape. Evan will preform live with this piece during Art Murmur. Also, upstairs will be several new 2D works that will be for sale.
The River Makes No Sound is the bay area art opening that I am most excited for. It's a must see for lovers of elegantly refined work, contemporary art, sound installations, and of artist who push at the boundaries of possible.
